So I’ve got a 2016 Mustang GT that I’ve slowly been modifying over the years, and while I love the power and the sound, the braking performance has started to feel really off lately, especially the way the front end dives aggressively every time I hit the brakes even moderately hard. It’s gotten to the point where I feel like I’m riding a seesaw every time I come to a stop at traffic lights, with the nose dipping way down and then bouncing back up a couple of times before settling, which I know is a classic sign of worn out front shock absorbers that have lost their damping ability. I’ve already upgraded the brake pads and rotors thinking that might help, but the issue is clearly suspension-related rather than braking performance, because the car stops fine, it just doesn’t stay flat and composed while doing it. I’ve been reading up on the various shock absorber options for these cars and I’m leaning towards getting some performance-oriented ones that’ll firm up the front end and reduce that dive, but I’m not sure whether to go with adjustable ones or just a good quality fixed set that’ll suit my mostly street driving. A couple of the guys in my Mustang club mentioned that they had their shocks done at a place that really understands these cars and could advise on the best setup for my needs, rather than just selling me whatever they had in stock. I’ve been looking for a Leading Mustang shock absorber service in Al Barsha because I’ve heard there are a few workshops in that area that specialise in American performance cars and actually take the time to get the setup right. Has anyone here upgraded their front shocks specifically to reduce nose dive during braking, and what brand did you end up going with? Also, if you’ve had this work done, roughly what did it cost and did the workshop also recommend replacing the strut mounts or any other components while they were in there? I really want to get this sorted because the diving is starting to affect my confidence in the car, especially in emergency braking situations where I need the car to stay stable and predictable.
