Thought I’d drop this here because I nearly made a very expensive decision last month and maybe it helps someone else in the same boat. Was about to pull the trigger on a 2018 DB11 V8 from a private seller in Al Reem, low mileage and looked absolutely stunning in that deep Ultramarine Black, and the guy was pushing for a quick sale before he left the country. My gut just wouldn’t settle though so I told him I needed a day to sort out a Certified Aston Martin Pre Purchase Check and he got real quiet real fast after that. Turns out the car had been flagged for a transmission oil leak that was just wiped clean before my viewing and the adaptive damping was throwing intermittent faults that only showed up on a proper deep scan not the basic reader. The shop I went through actually found the evidence of a previous rear quarter repair that wasn’t on any Carfax equivalent here and the paint meter readings were all over the place. I was annoyed at the time because I really wanted the car but looking back now it was the best few hundred dirhams I ever spent in Abu Dhabi. Just a heads up for anyone looking at these cars privately here.
