When I first started university, I thought research papers were mainly about finding information and putting it together in the right format. Years later, after exploring discussions around custom research paper writing and academic research processes, I see them very differently. Research papers are less about collecting facts and more about building an argument, evaluating evidence, and contributing to a wider conversation. The difference between what I thought academic writing was and what it actually is turned out to be much bigger than I expected.
